This Saturday, don't look for me at home because I'll be in the Short North Arts District at the  opening reception for the Summer Show of Art. I dropped off several of my latest paintings on Monday, 15 pieces to be precise; three are mid-size, 12 are smaller. I'm thrilled to be exhibiting with such a talented group of artists, I can't wait to see the show hanging. The show is going to be on view for three months, and pieces will be rotating on the walls - hopefully many will be leaving with happy buyers. Do you ever have periods in which things go well and you are afraid to wake up?  I'm in such a period right now. Things are going well, and I am so afraid the it will end out of the blue, just like it started. But hey, in the meantime, I'm doing my best to enjoy every minute of it. Never waste something good, right? Home-life is going great and my artistic endeavor is giving me some satisfactions that I thought would never come. Not only people are buying my paintings, which is amazing all by itself - to know that they are willing to pay for the products of me having fun in the studio, and keep them in their home, where they look at them every day, how wonderful is that?? Also, I am now represented by a super nice art gallery, and the owner invited me to participate in a small group show of mixed media art. Yay! It was supposed to be a solo show for one of the other two artists but, being over-committed, she requested to have someone else to share the space with, and...

I really like the impressionistic look I get when I paint a landscape on location. "Walking the Dog at Schiller Park" 12"x12" Oil on panel Available I kept this painting very loose but at the same time detailed enough to know exactly what you are seeing, and there are quite a few things that I like about it. My favorite detail is probably the person walking the dog, the moment he walked by I just had to capture that red shirt and its reflection on the water. Just what all that green needed!

"Revitalized Short North" Oil on canvas 18"x24" SOLD The Short North, the Columbus Arts District, gets better and better. Every time I visit there something new going on, and I'm not only talking about the never-ending constructions, lol. I have painted quite a few versions of the iconic arches with the glowing lights. This one it's a little bigger than the other arch paintings that I have completed so far; the bigger size allowed me to get more details in, though still trying to keep it loose. I really like how it turned out. Thanks a lot to the collector that purchased it from the Marcia Evans Gallery, in the Columbus Short North Arts District.

Marcia Evans Gallery has been featuring several of my smaller paintings since December, and they will be on view until Jan 29, 2018. The year has started with great excitement for me! I have been offered a studio space at the High Road Gallery and Studios in Worthington, OH, and last week I moved in! My studio space at High Road Gallery and Studios The High Road Gallery is in a charming 1818's house, owned and administered by artist Carol Hershey. Carol ran it as a non-profit art gallery for many years, and in 2014 she changed it to artist studios and gallery.  I am very happy to be sharing the building with several very talented artists. My second solo exhibit of sky paintings is currently up at the Northwood Artspace in Columbus, OH, it will be on show until August 15th. Last weekend I had the opening reception. That's me with my husband Enzo at the Summer Skies show. It was the Friday before the 4th of July, and I was afraid that with people out of town or attending events, I was going to be there only with my close family, but thankfully we had a good turnout. I am very grateful for the opportunity to show my work and for the friends and supporters that came to the opening. For the second time this year I will be participating in the Annual Studio Sale at the Cultural Arts Center. Last year I just LOVED being a part of it, the place was full of artists and art lovers, the energy was sparkling and positive. My First Solo Exhibit! at the Columbus Cultural Arts Center 1-30 October 2015 My first solo show, and I am so proud of it! Who would have thought that this day will come? Yeah, maybe I did wish it was coming, but it came sooner than I thought. Yay me!!!! I look at the photos and I think "that's my work, in a gallery, and it looks great". There are many reasons for me to feel proud today, here are some. I have been able to create a body of work that stands together, with a theme and a flow. Considering how I like change and experimentation, this is quite an achievement on its own. I can't even cook the same recipe exactly the same twice, I like to tweak and change, improvise. The trick has been finding a subject matter that I really love: skies and sunsets, and how they influence the landscape. That never tires me. 100 paintings under $1000 Exhibition at UOA gallery, Short North Columbus, OH Until 27 January 2014 In December I had the great opportunity to meet some very talented artists, all living and creating in the Columbus, OH area. One of them was Michael McEwan, great artist and teacher was in the process of organizing an exhibit of 100 small paintings. He personally invited the participating artists based on a wonderful criteria: they had to do good art and be nice people, not a***les. :) So I was flattered when, even if we just met, he invited me to participate in the exhibit. I have to say he chose well, all the artists that I met at the reception were super nice, and even the gallery owners are wonderful; a great match. Thumb Box Exhibition, all art 6x6 or smaller Me at the opening Many galleries organize shows of small artwork for the Holidays. Small usually means affordable and provides a great selling opportunity as original gift. This year for the first time I am participating in two galleries that do this, and today was the opening of one exhibit, the Annual Thumb Box Show by the Ohio Art League. Vibrant Tree I - SOLD Each artist could submit up to three pieces, and I entered three of my vibrant trees, all acrylic on canvas. I attended the opening tonight and got to enjoy all the interesting art, so much great creativity and skills in such a small size art! The good news surprise was that when I got there one of my paintings had a red dot already. Neat! The exhibit will be up until the 28th of December.
