Jazzy Love
8”x10” Acrylic on canvas panel
Ah, how I love the sound of great music unexpectedly filling the air! It’s a gift, a spiritual lift offered by volunteer musicians spreading love through their instruments.
Lee A. Brown, a professional photographer and artist, took the reference picture and posted it in his ADNW web site for a monthly painting challenge. Apparently the saxophonist in the painting plays nearly every day in the same spot at Central Park. A quick research online uncovered his name: Ralph U. Williams.
Hi Robie,I really loved the crop you painted and the colors used for the background are lovely and vibrant.Good work!
ReplyDeleteThank you Yasha, I tried to focus on the instrument and the music filling the air. I'm glad you liked it. :)
ReplyDeletePS I just discovered your blog. Very nice. :)
I love your final composition, very colorful background. The sax and the musician were not easier to achieve ... Bravo. I painted for two years now and I'm like you completely self taught. Internet made me realize a few challenges and m'expérimenter in several directions. I have not yet found my own style but I think like you, it will be very colorful.
ReplyDeleteThanks Viviane. I really appreciate your comments. - Sounds like we are on similar track being self taught and finding our signature style. :)
ReplyDeleteI can feel the music in the colors you used!
