Bouquet of flowers - acrylic still life painting
"Bouquet of flowers"
12" x 12" (30.48 x 30.48 cm)
Acrylic on stretched canvas
I'm way past he deadline for this: it was suppose to be for the January's A nos pinceaux painting challenge, but I was not happy with the background, so I kept going it until it made sense to me.
I have to admit I ended up looking for ideas online, and getting inspired by Cezanne's background in his Flower's in vase. Now I'm pretty happy with it, and I learned a lot during the all painting process. :))
Evhe has been so nice that she posted it on the challenge's blog even if I was late. :)
"I could paint for a hundred years, a thousand
years without stopping
and I would still feel as though I knew nothing."
Paul Cezanne
Hai Robie! I find it quite rightly Evhe placed it on her blog. Your painting is so beautiful! All the flowers but in particular the roses! Great job!
ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful. Good for you for plugging away at it until you were satisfied. I think you are right, it's the only way to learn and progress as an artist.
ReplyDeleteHappy Painting.
I didn't see the picture, but your bunch of flowers is very fresh, it's a very nice painting, Robie.
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you for your comment on Padt.
Thank you guys, good feedback is always great to hear, even more so from fellow artists. :) I'm now working on the next challenge from Evhe, I realized that at first I'm very realistic on my painting, then I'm not satisfied with it, and a second phase kicks in where I start making it personal. So it does take me a longer time that others to finish a painting, but I Guess I enjoy it this way. Sure I'm learning a lot. Thanks Renate, Nora and Sylviane for encouraging words!
