Me Giving a Painting Demo at Bryn Du Mansion

Image
Last week I went to the Bryn Du Mansion, in Granville, Ohio and volunteered at the 14th Annual Fine Art Juried Show.  One of my paintings, Heading South , has been accepted in the professional category, and I was looking forward to seeing this wonderful show of talented amateur and professional artists. Truly a lot of talent in the exhibit! I volunteer as a docent in the morning and giving a demo in the afternoon. Me painting a demo at Bryn Du Mansion. This has been the first time that I've ever offered a demo with a live audience, I was a little nervous and really did not know what to expect. A couple of art lovers sat through the whole process, a few other patrons came and went. I am very grateful for the two that stayed the whole time because they allowed me to learn a lot of things about myself and the demo-giving process.   I had a lot of fun during the demo! My painting at the end of the demo, still a lot of work to do. I didn't think I woul...

Believe in Life - Oil Painting

Image
"Believe in Life" 20"x24" Oil on Canvas $460 Prints Available Sometimes it feels like winter inside. Some days are harder to live. There are seasons in our lives when all the fun seems far, far away, and our world seems dark and cold. Those are the days to NEVER GIVE UP. Life is creeping withing. Have faith. It'll be better. It's not really that bad, it's mainly your perception of it at this particular time, in these circumnstances. Believe in life. The miracle will happen, as it always happens for the trees in spring.

Golden - Sunset Oil Painting

Image
"Golden" 6"x6" Oil on board SOLD For Prints of this Painting Click Here I painted this golden sunset pretty quickly, really enjoying every stroke. It's a small painting, and I am considering making a bigger version; however, part of me is afraid redoing it I will lose the spontaneity and freshness in the execution. The other part of me thinks its worth a try. :) I might just have to get a big square canvas - all of those I have are rectangular - toss all fears to the side, and tackle a bigger version of this baby.

Line Dancing on The Scioto - Landscape Oil Painting

Image
"Line dancing on the Scioto" 18"x24" Oil on Canvas Available I really like this painting. Unbelievably, even though it looks from a country-side, it's a scene from the Scioto river banks downtown Columbus, under the bicentennial bridge. This is the way it looked a few months ago, when I painted it, now they are excavating and it's full of orange tape, machinery, and mud. I hope it'll go back to be a pretty view soon. It makes me feel calm when I look at it.  : )

Thinking of You - Oil Painting of Sunlight Reflections on Water

Image
"Thinking of You" 8"x10" Oil on Board Available This painting puts me in a romantic mood. It makes me feel like I want to be there, but not alone. So I know that if my loved one was not with me, with a sight like this I would be thinking of him, hence the title "Thinking of You". I filmed the painting process for this with my phone and created a time lapse video. I am trying to get better with time lapsing myself painting, but this video turned out all right for a time lapse rookie. You can see it on my facebook page (and if you get there, make sure you like my page, then you'd really make me happy!) One question still persists in my mind: is this a sunset or a sunrise?  I really can't decide. Thanks for visiting!
