My September Painting Challenge, How Did I Do?

Image
So, in September I pledged to paint as much as I could, 30 paintings in 30 days, to be precise. How did I do? Was I able to reach the goal? I don't know about you, but for me September seems to be one of the busiest months of the year, every year. I love embracing a painting challenge like the 30 in 30 because it gives me the incentive to try extra hard to paint as often as I can, on a month in which I would probably put painting on the back burner, otherwise. As expected, some days I did not get to paint, and other days I did not focus on the challenge, but worked on my hand-painted greeting cards, or I on bigger-ongoing paintings. However, on other days I was able to paint several little studies, then of course there have been the good days, when I actually started and finished a single painting. Long story short, below is a photo of the September production (minus some greeting cards and a couple of big painting there have been work in progress for a while). Not to...

Summer Skies - An Exhibit of Paintings by Robie Benve (aka Me! lol)

Image
I have said it already and I am saying it again, this last year has been amazing for me. I had several opportunities coming up unexpected, and I am very glad that my mind was open to accept the surprises and last minute change of plans. The last great thing that happened: they invited me to show my sky paintings at the Nothwood ARTSpace here in Columbus. Of course I said yes right away, and now I'm busy getting ready to hang in less than two weeks. SUMMER SKIES will be on show from July 1st to August 15th 3016. We are having a reception on Friday July 1st, 6-8 pm. The address is 2231 N High St. Columbus, OH ... just in case you were thinking of coming. :) This painting passion of mine has brought me into a wonderful and interesting journey. I am determined to enjoy the ride, feeling thankful for all the blessings, without letting panic and anxiety take over my heart and mind. Rejoice and be glad, it'll be all right! Thanks a lot for stopping by! ”Do not...

Exhibiting in Local Businesses

Image
For the months of December 2013 and January 2014 I'll have some of my art on show at Edward Jones Investments in Dublin, OH. Isn't it wonderful when businesses welcome and support local artists? Some businesses in Dublin, OH open their doors and lent their walls to members of the Dublin Area Art League. We all take turns showing our creations in these great locations. Being over the Holidays I get two months in a row.  Awesome! If you walk by when the offices are closed you can still peak in, and one of my paintings (View of Tulum) is right by the window, as you can see on the left.

Exhibiting My Art This Month

Image
My paintings on display at the Dublin Rec Center One of the pluses of being member of an art league is the opportunity to access different exhibition venues. As member of the Dublin Area Art League (Dublin, OH) I have the option to exhibit in different public locations. Last month my art was on the walls of the local Starbucks, this month at the Dublin Community Recreation Building. Here are a couple of shots of "my" wall at the Rec Center. My paintings on display at the Dublin Rec Center I love the amazing support artists get locally, from local businesses, fellow artists, and communities. It's great, and I recommend any artist to join art leagues and groups. It is always productive and to network with other artists; you can find inspiration and you get to know about lots of opportunities. Have a happy creative day! :)
